How to Make Ultimate Cowboy Beans in a Crock Pot
Aunt Lou here.
We received a comment from one of our readers, Richard H., on our Bacon Crock Pot Beans and Weenies. He told us his mother made something very similar but also added in a pound of ground beef. Richard said that the result was fantastic. I loved the idea, and wanted to give it a try. When he said that it was fantastic, he was not joking! The flavor was amazing. (Thanks Richard!) With 3 different meats in this recipe, it was wonderfully hearty as well.
When talking over names for this recipe, Cris and I decided it needed a name that aptly described it. Beans and Weenies wasn’t going to cut it. The addition of ground beef to this recipe took them up to the next level. So, we named them Ultimate Crock Pot Cowboy Beans, and they earn every bit of that name. They are incredibly good.
